"Untitled (1952)" by Mark Rothko
I’m not even sure if I have the right painting here. I don’t care. It just sold for $66,000,000 and I doubt the buyer cares either. I’m not judging the painting, the artist, or the movement. All are important and significant. What bugs me is the misallocation of capital in the art market. Too much for the top and none for the bottom. The world needs more art (like mine), and less investment.
