"Mystery and Melancholy of a Street" by Giorgio de Chirico
If you don’t like the painting you have to like the title. I like both. There is something going on here but the viewer is not privy to it. The all but deserted street, the strange buildings and ominous long shadows all create an unsettling and mysterious image. The girl with the hoop seems oblivious to some unseen impending doom. Be careful little girl that looks like some kind of circus wagon. Don’t take a ride from a stranger.
