"Mutter und Kind" by Otto Muehl
This week: Paintings I saw on my European vacation. I came across this large painting in a Frankfurt museum. I am afraid to know why I was drawn to it? I think I like the apparent childlike execution of the subject. There is no filtering, refining or rethinking. He has just laid it down – take it or leave it. CAUTION: some limited research by me has revealed Otto did some time for sexual offenses with minors. That ruins it for me. Too real, I guess.
