"Man at the Table" by Marc Chagall
I like Chagall’s paintings for their dream like whimsy and deep religious significance. This is not one of those. It seems with every artist I look at I can find a bottle of wine or a cat in their work. This has both, plus more. I love the exaggerated perspective that shrinks the other dinners to specks. I love the red wine on the red table and the mysterious man in yellow. I’m not sure if the man in blue is about to stab a pea or stab the cat. Maybe both – I love it!
