"White Crucifixion" by Marc Chagall
Today’s topic : The Deep Religious Symbolism in Marc Chagall’s “White Crucifixion”. For starters, it is quite deep, but not too deep. I’m thinking medium deep. Up to your waste, but not over your head. If it was a hole and you jumped in, you wouldn’t hurt yourself. Having said that though, if it was quicksand it would be too deep. If it was tropical beach water it wouldn’t be deep enough. It is a fine balance and I think Chagall has nailed it! Tomorrow: something less deep.
