This painting was inspired by my recent trip to Japan. I was particularly taken by the solitude and serenity of the Temples and Shrines. First in a series, this is part of my “One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji” collection. I was only there for five days yet I am strangely compelled to make this my life’s work. My nightly dreams are filled with memories of Edo and visions of this great mountain. I’m not sure what has gotten in to me. Too bad I don’t like fish.

Mary Ann Burrows:

Isn’t your personal artistic journey just the best trip you’ve ever been on ? I love your new inspiration and direction.
