"The Flame" by Jackson Pollock
Jump forward about five years and Jackson is off the farm and into the fire. We still see some remnants from his time with THB but Pollock is clearly moving towards abstraction. The swirling and twisting remain but the figurative and allegoric aspects are all but gone. From my perspective this painting sucks. Have I used that word before? Fortunately this piece is only a stepping-stone to Pollock’s break through into Abstract Expressionism, which I can barely say but will explain tomorrow.
