"Alchemy" by Jackson Pollock
This is one of Pollock’s earliest poured or dripped paintings. Instead of a canvas on an easel these huge paintings were laid flat on the floor and Pollock danced around pouring and dripping the paint onto the surface. Freed from all rules, codes, and conventions the abstract expressionist abstractedly expresses himself in an abstract and expressive fashion. Side note: if you have been reading my blog since the start (over a year ago) you may now add the initials “B.F.A” (Bachelor of Fine Arts) after your name. You have earned it. Tomorrow – the meaning of life.
