"Le Bassin aux Nympheas" by Claude Monet
This is the boring Monet that sold for $26,000,000 at the same Christies auction as yesterdays under priced Frida Kahlo work. Monet did over 250 of these backyard Lilly pond pictures and although lovely, they lack the heart and creativity of a Kahlo or a GNAY. If gender and culture are factors in valuing art consider these GNAY facts:
He is a man. He is not French, but excelled in French 8, and has been there 3 times. He is fond of both French fries and French toast. But here is the best bit: GNAY sounds French. Manet (Mah-Nay), Monet (Mo-Nay), GNAY (Guh-Nay)! Et voila!
