"Skulls on a Table" by Aelbert Jansz van der Schoor
Ahhh the “Golden Age” of Dutch painting – Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van der Schoor. Van der Schoor? Never heard of him, but I’m guessing he was put away for a long time after showing this macabre still life at the salon. I count six skulls plus a couple of arm or leg bones. Hey AJ thanks for balancing the composition with a couple of roses! Am I the only one that thinks there is something wrong here? Van der Schoor is long gone but if you own this painting you are very sick. Do the right thing and turn yourself in immediately!
