The first task at hand is to figure out who the artist is. I see a snowy village square with horse drawn carriages, colourful houses, and a Canada goose vendor. Well that is a dead giveaway! Knowing that this painting originated in Montreal, I put two and two together and knew instantly it was a Paul Archibald Octave Caron. Plus, there is a legible signature in the lower right hand corner where art “experts”, such as myself, know to look. But here is why I get paid the big bucks: the signature only says Paul Caron and “non-experts” could have easily credited this piece to the famous Tahitian painter - Paul Reginald Gustave Caron, which it clearly is not. Show me the money!
