"Montreal Street" by Paul Archibald Octave Caron
A bit of background on the artist first. Born in Montreal in 1874 this hard drinking French Canadian painter won lots of awards from societies with Royal or National or Quebec in their titles. When not running around with loose women, Caron painted many lovely watercolour winterscapes such as this. Some were featured on Christmas cards. The National Gallery in Ottawa, that has rebuffed GNAY on three occasions now, has a couple of Caron’s crappier works. As a great lover of snow, Caron fought tirelessly to end Global Warming.
