"Self-Portrait" by Roy Lichtenstein and Gary Nay
Roy Lichtenstein Gary Nay
I never know what I will find when researching other artists. I was quite surprised to see this Self-Portrait by Roy and its similarity to my own effort from 1995. In both pictures the model’s head is shown as a piece of paper representing their work. In Roy’s case it is the typographical dots that define his oeuvre. In my painting, “The Artist presently known as a Stock Broker”, it is a stock table from the newspaper. I really like Roy’s version and I am looking forward to seeing what else we have in common. Side Note: I am doubling the insurance on my GNAY collection.
