"Gabriele Munter Painting, 1903" by Wassily Kandinsky
Kandinsky is credited with being the first artist to do a purely abstracted painting and this is not it. This is obviously quite a personal piece, as we know it is a painting of his then girlfriend, painting. Winking face. Do you think he showed it to his wife? Doubting face. It is partly abstracted I think probably to disguise his subject. Aha face. In fact I think WK will move on to total abstraction in order to hide his true feelings from himself and us; unlike me who gives you his true feelings constantly. Mischievous smiling face.
