ARTH 609:     Elements of a GNAY       3 credits

Element 3 - Environmental Caution

Most GNAY paintings have an underlying theme of environmental caution. Sometimes it is subtle, like a single piece of Japanese tsunami debris, but it can also be in your face, as in this painting. The dead tree, the apocalyptic yellow sky, and the red-eyed crow all let you know this isn’t just another pretty picture. Living in a port city GNAY often uses shipping containers to symbolize our consumptive wasteful society. Not preaching, just pointing. Course Sponsor Side Note: Make sure your community is fortified and well-armed in the event of a Hitchcockian crow uprising.
