“Print Numbering Inventory” by Gary Nay
This is a look at the way I (now) keep track of my limited-edition prints. My original system, scraps of paper, quickly became unmanageable. My first prints (now called my early works) were 7.5x10 and were limited to 25 and I thought I would never sell one, let alone 25. PROBLEM: Some of my images have become quite popular and I have had to use several techniques to extend their life and reach. “Coming Home” is a case in point as I have sold over 250 prints of this image in various versions and sizes. This week I tell the story (in my best British accent) of what happens when an artist (GNAY) paints himself into a corner, and I’m calling it, “The Private Life of a GNAY Masterpiece”.
