Fast forward five years and GNAY is now living a “bon vivant” lifestyle as one of Vancouver’s most successful stock brokers. Summers yachting in the Gulf Islands. Winters skiing Blackcomb and Gestade. Booze, drugs, fast cars, fast women – he had it all. (think “Wolf of Wall Street” X10). But like Paul Gauguin before him, somehow something was missing in his life. The urge to create and connect with his true being persisted. This small oil painting from the period shows his “Yachting” shoes casually strewn on the hardwood floor of his drive in closet. Disdain? Disgust? Many art historians have interpreted this painting as a cry for help. The battle between commerce and creativity has begun!
