“Still Life with Bell’s and Bananas ” by 13 Monkeys
Early this morning, thirteen monkeys at the Cincinnati Zoo overran their keeper, only to raid the arts and crafts cupboard and produce this painting. This confident still life would be considered worthy of a human artist but is a remarkable achievement for a troop of monkeys. Art experts and anthropologists alike, are shaking their heads as to the subject matter. A monkey’s penchant for bananas is well documented, but a fondness for Bell’s Finest (whiskey) is unprecedented. What could have caused a carload of monkeys to produce this piece? Speculation has ranged from “something in the drinking water” to a “mass possession”. Primatologists are being flown in from Nairobi to further investigate.
