“The Creation of Adam” by Michelangelo
This famous painting from the Sistine Chapel, illustrating God creating Adam, was also instrumental in my decision to become an artist. A 1972 Family trip to Rome and Athens, where I was exposed to many awe-inspiring artworks, left me with a deep appreciation of art and envy of artists. These feelings would stay with me my whole life, but not assert themselves for over forty years. Along the way several other experiences would stoke my artistic fire and nudge me towards a life in art. So, this week I want to explore these early influences and experiences and see what led to “The Creation of GNAY”.
