"The Artist presently known as a Stockbroker 1995" by GNAY
Who is GNAY? My quest to uncover the real GNAY continues with this perplexing Self-Portrait from 1995. While the stock price table obscures his face the telltale GAP sweater, hefty legs, and malt beverage don’t lie, this is GNAY. Why did he cover his face? I don’t think he did. Mass spectral analysis indicates that the framed newspaper covering his face was added around 2000, either by a disgruntled investor or another jealous artist. I’m leaning towards the latter and Banksy comes to mind. GNAY – show your face!
