This depressing, post apocalyptic painting, was snapped up by Russia’s prestigious Hermitage Museum last week, amid the “GNAY is dead crisis”, for 9,800,000 ruble ($188,000 cdn). The curator’s there felt this bleak and smoldering painting speaks to the Russian experience and deserves to be hung in their world-renowned gallery. Russian reporters accused the museum of over paying for the piece after discovering GNAY was alive and well. The curators rebutted with,  “we have seen GNAY drink and he won’t be around for long”.
