"Boy with Pipe" by Pablo Picasso
How do you chase away the blues? Run away and join the circus, of course. Around the age of 24 Pablo does exactly this. His paintings from this “Rose Period” take on a much warmer and happier tone. He paints clowns and acrobats and seems to have fun doing it. I think in general, happy paintings are more saleable than sad ones. This is a great example, as it will (after Pablo’s death) sell at auction for over 100,000,000 dollars. That will cheer anyone up! Note to self: do more happy paintings.
