"Self-Portrait with Black Clay Pot" by Egon Schiele
This artist’s work gives me the creeps, but here at GNAYart we don’t judge, so I am going to give this famous Austrian artist a look-see. Plus, his tragic short life is great fodder for my, shoddy but insightful, psychoanalysis of painters lives through their art. Problem #1: when Egon was 15 his father died of syphilis and he was sent to live with his strange uncle. If your dad dies in the war, that’s one thing, but of syphilis? That had to be hard on the young lad, as we will soon see through his twisted art. Things might get messy.
