“Nasturtiums with the Painting - Dance” by Henri Matisse
This weak effort from Henri gives me an opportunity to delve into the painting process of a prolific and popular artist such as myself or Matisse. This is a bit of a famous artist secret, so please don’t pass it around. You’re sitting in your studio, eager to paint, but you don’t have a single subject in mind. You look around and see some flowers on a table. Boring, but then the creative process starts – “put one of my famous paintings in the background and people will eat it up!” It’s still a weak composition so you throw in a chair from another famous painting and voila! You’re Matisse, they swoon. Show me the money. Shhh.
