Chapter 7: Pilgrimage (excerpt)
… and when I awoke at dawn he was gone. His camp, his “followers”, even his empties! I will miss his infectious laugh and his healthy pour, but his spirit lives on within me. He taught me to look inwards for what I seek and to paint from my heart. This massive (5’X12’) panorama is my homage to GNAY and the magical time we spent together in the Tahitian jungle. I think it is my best work to date and I doubt I will ever do anything better – or even like it, again … and if my work ever gains any recognition I will have my mystical Canadian mentor to thank for it! Godspeed GNAY, au due.
