After retiring from banking after 20 years in the industry, I decided to try my luck at drawing and painting. I completed the Fine Arts Certificate program in 2010 at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, where I lived for 20 years.
I moved to Cobourg in 2011, and have specialized in acrylic abstract palette knife paintings. Using a limited colour palette, the paints are administered directly onto the canvas, then worked with large palette knives. A high gloss finish is applied to protect the painting, and to enhance the colour.
I have always loved rich colour, dramatic style, and decorating. I also have been told I have a flair for drama and humour. I think my personality is very much reflected in my work, demonstrated by my use of vivid colour and dramatic strokes, with a sense of playfulness.
My inspiration comes from surroundings and places I have travelled to, as well as my favourite artists: Cezanne, Jackson Pollock, The Group of Seven, and Gerhard Richter.
