EXPRESSIONISTIC ABSTRACT ARTIST
Artist Statement:
Originally from Montreal, I moved to Toronto in my mid-twenties to work in the banking industry. When I retired after a 30 year career, I decided to try my luck at drawing and painting. I completed the Fine Arts Certificate program in 2010 at Sheridan College in Oakville Ontario, where I had lived for the past 20 years.
I moved to Cobourg in 2011, and have specialized in original impressionistic and expressionistic abstract paintings. My medium is acrylic on canvas, sometimes finished with a high gloss varnish. My colour palette is limited, and I prefer to mix colours and experiment directly on the canvas, usually with palette knives.
I continue to evolve my work, and am inspired by my favourite artists, Cezanne, De Kooning, Diebenkorn, Kandinsky, and Gerhard Richter.
