ARTZILA

I was born in Hong Kong and have lived in Canada most of my life.  A photographer turned painter, I paint images that favour a quality of stillness and quietude. Although the paintings are representational, the images are a means to explore the abstraction of wonder, mystery and ambiguity.  I do not use my paintings to communicate ideas, but rather to discover my understanding of these places, events or feelings. It’s an attempt to create a fictional space of my own invention.
